DeepClaude swaps Claude Code's backend to DeepSeek V4 Pro — 17x cheaper

DeepClaude is an open-source local proxy (MIT) on GitHub that intercepts Claude Code's API calls on port 3200 and routes them to DeepSeek V4 Pro. DeepSeek charges $0.87 per million output tokens vs. Anthropic Opus at $15 — hence the '17x cheaper' claim. A $200/mo Claude Code user could spend ~$20 with the swap. It supports file editing, bash, git, and multi-step agent loops, with a slash command to switch back to Anthropic for complex reasoning. The 'cheaper substitute' path has long been a Chinese-circle interest — DeepClaude is the off-the-shelf example.
