Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-29

These Terms govern your use of BuilderWorld. Creating an account or uploading a project means you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

Who we are

BuilderWorld is a community platform for people shipping with AI tools. The service is operated by an independent developer. For data subject access requests, regulatory inquiries, or legal notice, contact support@builderworld.io and the operator will respond per applicable law.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're in the EU or UK, at least 16. By signing up you confirm you meet that threshold and that nothing in your country's law prevents you from using the service.

Your content

You own everything you upload — projects, comments, bios, images.

By posting content publicly on BuilderWorld, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, cache, and share that content as needed to run the service (including in search results, feeds, and email digests).

You keep the right to remove your content at any time; removal ends the license going forward, though cached copies may linger briefly.

You represent that you have the right to post what you post. If you upload someone else's work, you're responsible for having permission.

Self-declaration model

BuilderWorld uses a trust-based model for AI-tool declarations, build time, and project authorship. We don't verify these claims automatically. Misrepresentation is grounds for account action, and the community relies on the assumption that you're being honest.

Editorial content & LLM drafts

Many entries in our tool directory, model leaderboard, learn library, dictionary, and Daily Pulse are drafted by large language models (Claude, etc.) and reviewed by an editor before publishing. Entries shown to readers as `auto_generated` were published with limited human polish; the editor verified factual accuracy on best-effort basis but errors may remain.

Editor opinion (verdicts, takes, recommendations) reflects the operator's view at the time of writing. We may update these as products change. Entries that prove factually wrong will be corrected when flagged.

We are not authoritative sources for product specs, pricing, or benchmarks — always verify against the vendor's official documentation before making purchasing or technical decisions.

Affiliate links

Some tool listings include affiliate links. When a reader clicks through and signs up or pays, the platform may earn a commission from the vendor. This commission has no effect on whether a tool is included or how it is rated.

Affiliate links are marked with an ⓘ Affiliate badge next to the call-to-action. Pro subscribers can opt out of affiliate redirects in settings — they will see the vendor's official URL directly with no commission tracking.

We do not accept payment from vendors to alter editorial verdicts or to feature products. If a vendor offers us a paid placement, we will mark it explicitly as Sponsored.

User reviews & ratings

Where the platform allows you to rate or comment on tools, models, or articles, the views you post are your own. They do not represent BuilderWorld's editorial position.

We may remove ratings or comments that violate the prohibited-conduct rules below, contain spam, or appear to be coordinated brigade behaviour. We don't owe an explanation for individual moderation calls but try to be consistent.

Vendors and product owners are welcome to respond to reviews of their own products through normal commenting, but must disclose their affiliation. Astroturfing — pretending to be a regular user while representing a vendor — is grounds for account action against everyone involved.

Source citations

News articles in the Daily Pulse cite the original publishers we sourced from (Hacker News, vendor blogs, arXiv, etc.). We aggregate, summarize, and provide editorial commentary; readers should follow the source link for primary reporting.

Dictionary entries reference the origin of technical terms where relevant (academic papers, official documentation, RFCs). Where a term has no canonical source, we describe the practical understanding builders use today.

If you believe content on the platform misrepresents your work or violates copyright, email support@builderworld.io with the URL and details.

What you can't do

Spam, phishing, malware distribution, or pretending to be someone else.

Illegal content, content that harasses or threatens specific people, content targeting protected groups, or content sexualising minors.

Scraping the site in ways that degrade the service, or abusing rate limits.

Reverse-engineering, probing, or interfering with the security of the service.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Pro subscriptions

Pro plans are billed monthly through Polar.sh, our Merchant of Record. Polar's own terms govern payment, taxes, refunds, and card handling — see polar.sh/legal/terms.

You can cancel at any time from your billing page or the Polar customer portal. Pro access continues until the end of the paid period.

Prices are shown in USD. Local taxes are added by Polar where applicable.

USDT prepaid Pro (3 / 6 / 12 months) is processed by NOWPayments (non-custodial). By design, crypto payments are non-refundable once confirmed on-chain. Prepaid plans do not auto-renew; we email you 7 days before expiry.

Founding Member status, once granted, is permanent for you even if you later cancel Pro.

Refunds

Card subscriptions: refund requests go through Polar.sh (our Merchant of Record) per their refund policy. We will support legitimate requests where Polar permits.

USDT prepaid subscriptions: non-refundable. Crypto transactions are final once confirmed on-chain.

If you believe you were charged in error, email support@builderworld.io within 14 days and we will investigate.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your settings; when you do, your profile and projects are removed from public view.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or create legal risk for the platform.

Changes to the service

We're building BuilderWorld actively. Features will change, be added, or be removed. We'll give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid users, through email or an in-app notice.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. Your use of the service is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of BuilderWorld is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50.

We're not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.

Events beyond our control

We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control — including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, internet outages, or third-party platform failures (Supabase, Vercel, Lemon Squeezy, NOWPayments, etc.). Affected obligations are suspended for the duration of the event.

Assignment

You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms to anyone else without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, with notice to you.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the rest remains in full effect. The unenforceable part will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes that can't be resolved informally will be heard in the courts of Taipei, Taiwan.

If you're a consumer in a jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer protection laws override this clause, those mandatory laws apply to that extent.
