Editor's verdict
Step-2 punches above its (low) name recognition outside China — independent leaderboards (SuperCLUE) consistently rank it top three among Chinese LLMs for reasoning. Worth knowing if you're benchmarking PRC options. The 32K context is the practical limitation; for long-doc work pick Doubao or Qwen instead. Outside mainland adoption is minimal.
